Overview

The Teltonika OTD500 is a durable 5G Outdoor Router built for reliable connectivity in demanding environments. It's capable of reaching speeds up to 3.4Gbps when operating on 5G, and is also backwards compatible with 4G (CAT19) & 3G for when a 5G signal is not available.

Its IP55-rated housing withstands harsh conditions, and the integrated mounting bracket enables quick & hassle-free installation for mounting vertically on a flat surface or for pole mounting (pole not included).

The router comes with Dual SIM Card slots and eSIM, enabling automatic switching which provides exceptional network flexibility and redundancy. The eSIM can be particularly useful if you have the OTD500 installed high up and out of the way, since it allows you to change the SIM profile without needing to physically access the router.

x2 Gigabit Ethernet ports; x1 PoE-in and x1 PoE-out simplifies setup by combining power and data in a single cable. The PoE-out port can be used to efficiently power a nearby device (such as an IP camera or WiFi Access Point) without needing to run an additional cable from the internal power source.

The OTD500 itself has no ability to distribute WiFi, but it can be easily used in conjunction with a separate WiFi Access Point (indoor or outdoor) to distribute WiFi. Or alternatively you can run an Ethernet cable from the OTD500 and plug this directly into a device you wish to provide an internet connection to, e.g. an IP Camera.

The OTD500 is fully RMS compatible (Teltonika Remote Management System), offering effortless remote management, making it perfect for connectivity solutions.

Article - IP Ratings Explained, by Daniel Coombs

Article: IP Ratings Explained

IP ratings, or Ingress Protection ratings, are a standardised benchmark of how capable a product is of withstanding ingress from foreign entities that could negatively impact its functionality. They’re helpful because terms like ‘weatherproof’ and ‘waterproof’ are unspecific terms and don’t always convey the necessary level of detail – waterproof on one device can mean it’s capable of withstanding rain. In contrast, on another device, it can mean being capable of complete submersion in water for extended periods.
