What is RedCap 5G?
One of the biggest hesitations around 5G adoption has been the perceived need for high-performance (and high-cost) solutions. That changes with 5G RedCap Reduced Capability. RedCap brings a middle ground between 4G LTE and full-fledged 5G, offering lower power consumption and cost while still delivering key 5G benefits like lower latency and improved network efficiency.

Poynting: Battle of the XPOL1
The Poynting XPOL1 has been a best-selling OMNI antenna right back to the version 1, 4G, days of antennas. It is best best-selling because it is that buyer's dream mixture of excellent specification and good value for money! We are now on to the 5G versions of the antenna, 2x2 and 4x4, and added to that, there are now two versions!
At first sight, that might appear to be a bit odd, to have a V2 and a V3, and to be fair, it is. However, despite the naming of them, they are offering you something different with each version. Essentially, they are not battling each other; they are complementing each other.

Teltonika Calyx Raspberry Pi Hat
Every now and again it is nice to take a new direction with the kit that we sell. We are super excited to introduce the new Calyx Raspberry Pi HAT from Teltonika. My first question, why calyx? In an 'every day is a school day' moment, I learned that a Calyx is the top bit of a raspberry, so this is a perfect name for the Pi HAT!
With 39% of developers choosing Raspberry Pi as one of the most used single board computers (SBCs) worldwide, the hardware was ready – but the connectivity wasn't. Teltonika are here to change that!

RedCap brings a middle ground between 4G LTE and full-fledged 5G, offering lower power consumption and cost while still delivering key 5G benefits like lower latency and improved network efficiency.
By bringing these disparate qualities together, RedCap equipment can be significantly more cost-efficient and energy-friendly than standard 5G, while still performing at a higher level than standard 4G.

Teltonika - IoT Gateways
In the third, and final, chapter of my Teltonika networking updates I am going to cover the Internet of Things Gateways. We have had some of these for a while and a few more have launched over the summer so this is a good time to do some comparisons to see what’s what.
Firstly, what is an IoT gateway and why might you need one? Internet of things (IoT) gateways provide a bridge or protocol convertor between other IoT devices, the cloud or Internet, and any user equipment such as smartphones. IoT gateways provide a communication link between the field and cloud as well as providing offline services and real-time control of devices.
