General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25th May 2018. Here at Solwise we collect data such as your name, addresses, email and phone number for the purposes of order processing and warranty information. We have never sold on data to third parties; our feeling is we treat your data as if it were our own! We also meet all the requirements for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for processing credit/debit cards which puts us in a good position for meeting GDPR requirements.
Following the UKs withdrawal from the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been retained in UK law and will continue to be read alongside the Data Protection Act 2018, with technical amendments to ensure it can function in UK law.
Mailing Lists
Our database marketing mailing lists are both opt in. If you wish to be on our product update mailing list please do get in touch and we can arrange for you to opt in to this. We have bought in marketing lists in the past, these lists have all been deleted from our systems.
The Right to ask for a copy of your data
You have the right to ask for a copy of your data. In the first instance please email sales@solwise.co.uk There is no charge for this service and we have up to 30 days to respond to the data request. We reserve the right to make a reasonable charge for additional copies of information that has already been supplied.
The Right to be forgotten
You have the right to request your data be removed from our database systems if you feel it is no longer necessary for us to hold the data. Full details of this can be read in our GDPR Policy. Please email sales@solwise.co.uk with your request.
