Motorhome Internet

Internet connections wherever you are

Parked up at a Campsite:

Are you finding that, although a campsite offers you WiFi, you still struggle to pick up a good signal? If you are using your smartphones and tablets inside your Caravan/Motorhome then the signal will likely meet interference from the vehicle. Often the metal skin of a caravan/motorhome can block an incoming WiFi signal, limiting the WiFi signal strength you can receive inside your ‘van. At Solwise we have the solution to this… The Solwise Patriot.

The Solwise Patriot

The Patriot antenna is placed outside the caravan/motorhome and collects the WiFi signal offered by the holiday park, this signal then travels inside the caravan/motorhome via a cable and into an indoor antenna placed inside the 'van creating a personal hotspot, this then gives off a stronger WiFi signal for you to stream Netflix to your heart's content.

We have full kits available that include everything you should need to set up your WiFi booster kit, including multiple mounting options and detailed instructions.

On the Move, 4G/5G:

4G-Rut950

The best solution for a strong, stable 4G/5G connection whilst in your motorhome is a combination of an external antenna and an internal router. The external antenna is placed outside your 'van which collects the 4G/5G signal, this signal then travels inside the motorhome via a cable and into a router placed inside the 'van creating a personal hotspot. The router then gives out a WiFi signal which you can connect all your devices to. As mentioned above, often the metal skin of a caravan/motorhome can block an incoming signal, limiting the signal strength you can receive inside your ‘van, by having an external antenna in place this eliminates this problem.

This option gives the camper freedom to access the internet wherever their location and eliminates having to rely on holiday park’s WiFi. Unlike the Patriot, you will need to purchase a data-only SIM card from the provider of your choice to place inside the router to access the internet.

Here at Solwise we offer a wide variety of different antennas, both directional and omni-directional. Along with these, we provide various mounting brackets, from suction cups to tile mounts, and we also offer a number of antennas that mount directly to your vehicle.

We have both 4G and 5G options available in terms of routers, starting at category 4 and ranging up to category 22 depending on your needs.

The XPOL-1 is the most widely used of all Poynting antennas in the UK. It’s neat, small size, keeps it looking discreet on your unit when mounted outside. This antenna gives you great flexibility for mounting outside your unit, for example using suction cups to attach the antenna to a window, you would need to bring down the antenna when travelling. It would not normally be permanently mounted, although there are options to do this including pole mounting (pole not included).

The RUT241 is a 4G LTE Cat 4 router, capable of achieving mobile throughput speeds of up to 150Mbps and built with a robust industrial-grade frame. This router excels in a wide variety of scenarios and is very well received for those looking to get online in their vehicles. Paired with the MIMO3-12 gives you a permanent roof mount option. We call this one the shark fin due to its distinctive shape. This antenna is specifically designed for the transport and marine industries making it perfect for caravanners and motorhomers. The radiation patterns of all radiating elements provide an excellent balance between omnidirectionality, pattern diversity and good radiation abilities at the desired elevation, which is important for this type of antenna. Mounting options include the standard spigot mount, adhesive surface mount, or magnetic mount (optional magnets available).

The MIMO-4-17 is a 7-in-1 high-performance, multi-frequency antenna within a single housing. The antenna provides four cellular, two Wi-Fi and a GPS/GLONASS antenna. The four cellular MIMO antennas offer wideband coverage from 617 to 6000 MHz, covering contemporary LTE/4G and 5G bands for future-proof implementation. The ultra-wideband performance of the cellular antennas allows it to be used across different operators and technologies and is ready for future cellular technologies up to 6 GHz for 5G applications, as well as Wi-Fi applications from 5 to 6 GHz.

The antenna also provides two dual-band Wi-Fi antennas, providing concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 to 7.2 GHz on each antenna for 2×2 MIMO capability. The MIMO-4-17 exceeds the performance of most competitors due to the attention to the design of this high-performance antenna.
