Overview

The ‘Patriot’ is a long range outdoor 11n Access Point. With the Patriots weatherproof design you can transform your antenna* into a long distance link capable of 100Mbps real TCP/IP speeds over multi-km distances!

The Patriot has a low loss integrated N-type Plug connector making it suitable for the majority of outdoor antennas to connect to it directly. Mount your antenna to the wall or pole and then connect the Patriot to the antenna. The N-type Plug contains a waterproof gasket, as does the end cap.

Power and data are supplied over the Ethernet connection; this is via a proprietary Power over Ethernet, which is included. A UK power supply is also included.

The Patriot is ideal to offer WiFi to any outdoor space such as farms, campsites, beer gardens, university campus, shopping centres or industrial estates.

Other uses for the Patriot that you may like to consider are pairing it with Leaky Feeder Cable, using it with our ceiling antenna, or perhaps any of our outdoor antenna with N Type sockets.

The Patriot has a Signal Strength LED meter for easy antenna alignment.  The Patriot offers excellent receive sensitivity and superb performance at a very low price.

The N Plug contains a waterproof gasket, as does the end cap, but we strongly recommend that the N plug/antenna assembly be wrapped with self-amalgamating tape to prevent water ingress.

This product is sometimes referred to as WiFi Booster, WiFi AP Repeater, Access Point Repeater, WiFi Extender.

*antenna is not included.

Article - Antenna Choices for your Vehicle, by Louise Barrett

The Solwise antenna range has traditionally contained antennas that have been mounted on a pole or on a wall/building/portable building but in more recent times we are seeing more antennas used on vehicles. These include a wide range of vehicles such as cars, buses, lorries, caravans, motorhomes, boats, barges and even a space agency, an F1 team, mountain rescue teams and a defence contractor have all bought antenna hardware from us so who knows where some vehicle antenna have ended up!
Across our range we offer permanent and temporary solutions for antennas to mount on your vehicle; these antennas cover WiFi solutions and Mobile Data Solutions which means we have something for most situations.

A Wireless Repeater is a piece of equipment that takes an existing wireless signal and repeats the signal from the wireless repeater. The cost of having a WiFi repeater is that the signal is halved each time it is ‘repeated’. This means that if you have 100mbps throughput at the point of origin, you will have 50mbps at the first repeat, 25mbps at the second and so on.
Wireless repeaters are best used in open areas where there is less interference from objects as wireless signals, in general, are not great at penetrating through objects or walls.
For providing temporary wireless coverage around your home or to cover a blackspot a wireless repeater is a good solution, however, if you need higher throughput than the repeater will offer you may wish to consider a HomePlug solution.
