IP-W30AP

Overview

The IP-W30AP, from IP Com, is an Access Point ideal for use in hotels and B&B’s. Not only supplying wired and wireless Internet connections for guests the IP-W30AP features a USB charger port! You can use your existing USB charging cable to charge your USB powered devices such as smart phones, tables, MP3 players etc.

The IP-W30AP offers Wireless connections up to 300Mbps on the 802.11 b, g and n standards and is powered by any 802.3af compliant Power over Ethernet supply.  It has 2 RJ45 ports, one on the front allowing wired access for guests and one on the rear for network service and power provision.  It also has an RJ11 passthrough port on the front with screw terminals on the rear. The RJ11 port can be used for a telephone; you will need an adapter if using a telephone with a standard BT plug.

Although these in-the-wall access points are designed for hotels and business premises we have found many people like them for their own homes due to the neat and tidy design of the units and with the addition of the charging port this is an ideal home Access Point.

Firmware to facilitate centralised management: this is for models sold prior to 15th March 2015

Files and instructions to update the W30AP from Ver 1 firmware to Ver 2 firmware. The W30AP on Ver 1 firmware DOESN'T support any form of centralised management. When updated to Ver 2 firmware the W30AP can be used as a traditional stand-alone access point OR as part of a managed access point configuration using the CW500 Controller (but the CW500 has to be on ver 2.x f/w - contact your supplier if you need CW500 f/w) or the new CW1000.
