Off Grid Camping UK

Lee and Penny Millington, more commonly known as Off Grid Camping UK, host a Facebook group that allows like-minded people to share pictures and stories with others of their camping adventures, seek advice or just browse for ideas on places to visit in and around the UK and Europe. As fellow campers themselves, Lee and Penny can often be found setting up camp in their self-built sprinter camper van, sharing their adventures with their 2 spaniels.

The long awaited reveal and review of our new 4G Mobile Wifi 😍 First and foremost we’d like to thank Louise Solwise Ltd for setting us up with the perfect package. As some of you know Pen and I find ourselves in some very remote locations. Following a recent scare it became clear that maximising our chances of contacting the emergency services is a sensible thing to do. I must add it wasn’t myself or Pen that needed help. We contacted Solwise Ltd after a recommendation from a trusted friend.

Following a couple of emails this is what we received.

TELTONIKA RUT241

This is a updated version of the ultra successful RUT240. They are a 4G wifi router. We also received a...

Poynting A-MIMO-0003-V2-12 2in1 LTE Antenna.

The router with it twin mobile antennas have performed faultlessly throughout last week. Even in one of the most remote areas we stay. However, plugging the Poynting external antenna boosted our signal back to full.

On the road : We connected our campers sat nav to the wifi and left York for the weekend. In this time not once did we drop signal and lose connection. Throughout the weekend Pen still stayed connected working remote without issue. We streamed music and watched YouTube. We stayed at a campsite in the Lake District where there was no phone signal. Our Wifi worked and we stayed connected. We did a Facebook livestream with no dropout. We can honestly say that this is a game changer for anyone who likes being out in the wild. Also remember that you can turn it off, if you’re after a quiet time away however to have the choice if needed is a massive comfort.

Also it can easily be removed and used in another vehicle.
