Overview

The EnGenius Layer 2 switch includes IGMP Snooping, MLD Snooping, Port Mirroring, Rapid Spanning Tree, Multiple Spanning Tree, Spanning Tree, VLAN group, Voice VLAN, ACL, 802.1X port security, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and IEEE802.3ad Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). The EGS7228FP includes 24 Gigabit PoE (10/100/1000 Mbps) ports and four SFP (copper/hot-swappable small form-factor pluggable) Gigabit ports for optional fiber connectivity. IT managers or VARs who are expanding network deployments for businesses, schools, resorts and hotels, or other expansive venues can expect superior performance and reliability at a price point that is much more attractive than from larger, more enterprise focused network brands.

Rack Mountable
The EGS7228FP includes bracketing hardware for mounting onto a standard switch rack.

Ideal for Networks in Large Buildings or Linking Remote Buildings on a Campus
Includes 4 SFP Slots that accept fiber transceivers for extending the wired network beyond the limitation of Ethernet cabling with fiber cabling. Especially useful for schools with satellite classrooms, hotels and resorts, and other large multiple building properties.

*PoE switches and injectors can be used to power PoE compliant devices up to the total power output supported for the LAN port and the switch or injector as a whole.

Users must ensure that their connected device keeps within the maximum PoE power permitted per LAN port of the switch or injector and also the total power for all connected devices is less than the maximum total PoE power that the switch or injector can provide. For example, if the PoE switch is maximum 30W per port (so it conforms to 802.11at) but the maximum PoE power for the switch is 60W and the access point you are connecting is 18W maximum then, even if the switch has 8 PoE LAN ports, you can still only power a maximum of three access points.

Damage caused to the switch or injector by over loading the power budget is NOT covered by warranty.
