Product Management & Technical Support Executive
Two positions available
Based near Hull Solwise Ltd is a distributor of computer networking hardware with over 25 years trading history. Solwise specialises in wide area WiFi networking covering, but not limited to, schools, holiday parks, caravan sites, hotels, tunnels and office buildings. In addition, we also offer a wide range of WiFi access points, 3G/4G routers and a large range of antenna to complement the WiFi and 3G/4G hardware. Solwise has a mixture of retail (approx 20%) and reseller customers.
Product management will see you take responsibility for individual product groups. This entails selecting, testing and buying test quantities of new products, gaining and transferring technical skills on evaluation products, monitoring stock levels and buying repeat stock, negotiating prices and technical support issues with the suppliers working as a team
Technical support: Phone, email & walk-in support for retail and reseller customers. Return goods evaluation and processing.
Technical sales call handling for retail and reseller customers - includes the complete process from taking the call, delivering advice, making the sale, processing the order, taking payment etc.. We would expect this to include basic account/payments/credit queries.
Training: Developing and running training courses for your product groups as required. Some of this training would likely be video/web-based. It would be logical for product managers to supply this function for their own specialities. This may require some travel.
Marketing Support: writing/correcting product listings for the website, ensuring specifications and bullet points are correct and sensible. Writing articles and product updates for publication or suggesting an outline for others to write articles. Potentially adding new products to the website (depends on skill set).
Web based promotional & training production to include live and animated video. Whether this is based on 3D modeling or other video production mediums this has been very successful for us in the past and we would like the skills in-house.
A number of these job functions are essential for the department but will be shared by multiple people depending on their skills.
This is a wide scope of skills that we are looking for so we are looking at two people to cover our requirement. If you feel you have suitable experience for these roles we would love to hear from you. Please email with why you feel you would be right for one of these positions to Louise Barrett (email@example.com) and please also include your CV. If you wish to discuss the role prior to applying please email Louise or if you prefer to have a chat give her a call on 01482 672872.
