The Neutron Series
Wireless Management Solution
The EnGenius Neutron Series of wireless management products can be mixed and matched to create ideal wireless connectivity solutions for hotels, resorts, high schools, universities, corporate campuses, sports stadiums and arenas and for other companies and organizations.
This is a scalable solution for operations that occupy large properties and that need to deploy, monitor, and manage numerous EnGenius EWS Wireless Access Points from one simple and accessible browser-based software platform. EWS Switches can support any small number of EWS Wireless Access Points to several hundred depending on the number of EWS Switches in the network.
The EWS320AP can operate as a stand-alone Access Point connecting to third-party PoE-capable switches but more control and versatile management of the Access Point is achievable when it is part of an EnGenius Neutron Series Wireless Network Management solution because the AP includes firmware that enables it to be immediately discovered, configured, monitored and managed from a compatible Neutron Series PoE+ Switch (EWS5912FP, EWS7928FP or EWS7952FP). This capability enables IT managers to deploy and manage up to 50 EWS320APs from a Neutron Series Switch allowing for simplified management from one browser-based interface including simultaneous firmware upgrades, clustering, traffic monitoring, bandwidth steering and many other features that can be reset or reconfigured from the convenience of the IT manager’s desktop.
Operating in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency spectrums and supporting 802.11a/b/g/n standards the EWS320P features wireless speeds up to 450 Mbps on each radio, a Gigabit port for connecting to 802.3at-capable PoE Switches, and an enhanced receive sensitivity MIMO (Multiple In / Multiple Out) antenna array. As a result, the EWS320AP is ideal for spacious environments such as large homes, small and medium-sized businesses, multiple-floor offices, hotels, hospitals, and other multi-floor buildings.
As the EWS320AP is designed for deployments on ceilings where power outlets may be scarce, it also comes equipped with PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) IEEE 802.3at for use with an 802.3at-capable PoE injector or 802.3at-capable PoE Switches, drawing up to 22 watts of power.
Paired with other Neutron Series Access Points and Switches, the EWS320AP helps to make managing a network easier with its standardized GUI. To protect sensitive data during wireless transmissions, the EWS320AP offers different industry-standard encryption settings for wireless transmissions, including WEP, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK Mixed, WPA Enterprise, WPA2 Enterprise, and WPA2 Mixed Enterprise. It also includes MAC address filtering to allow network administrators to offer network access only to verified computers and devices based on their MAC addresses.
Features
Neutron Series Access Point
Can be configured, managed and monitored with several Neutron Series Access Points from the browser-based interface of one Neutron Series Wireless Management Layer 2 PoE+ Switch. After a Neutron Series Layer PoE+ Switch discovers the EWS320AP it can be "added" and set to be "managed" by the Switch. The Neutron Wireless Management solution supports bulk firmware upgrades and other features that can be set and managed across deployed Neutron Series Access Points simultaneously.
Wireless Speeds
Up to 450 Mbps on each of the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands for faster file transfers and smoother video streaming.
Dual-Band for Expanded User Capacity
802.11n concurrent Dual-band operation in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Can support up to 100+ users (1)
Three Stream
Increased throughput for better performance over Dual Stream Access Points.
High Power, Long-Range and Multiple Floor Penetration
Up to 28 dBm on each band provides more than twice the wireless coverage over mainstream competitors and enables the wireless signal to penetrate floors, ceilings, and walls for greater device connectivity. Internal MIMO antenna array provides better reception and performance as clients change their orientation.
SSID-to-VLAN Tagging
Can be configured to broadcast up to eight (16) SSIDs (8 SSIDs per frequency band). Each SSID can be tagged to a specified network VLAN for different user access tiers based on established access rights.
Band Steering
Automatically detects dual-band client devices in the network and shifts their traffic to the wider and less congested 5 GHz frequency band in order to minimize congestion on the 2.4 GHz in an effort to optimize overall bandwidth traffic on the network.
Fast roaming, Fast Handover
Keeps client devices connected as they roam within the network.
Wireless Traffic Shaping
Gives IT managers the ability to restrict bandwidth on each frequency as necessary.
1- User capacity performance results may vary based on topology configuration, structural and architectural elements, environmental factors, type of data traffic, RF capabilities of client devices, distance, RF interference in the operating environment and other factors.
