The Poynting XPOL1 has been a best-selling OMNI antenna right back to the version 1, 4G, days of antennas. It is best best-selling because it is that buyer's dream mixture of excellent specification and good value for money! We are now on to the 5G versions of the antenna, 2x2 and 4x4, and added to that, there are now two versions!

At first sight, that might appear to be a bit odd, to have a V2 and a V3, and to be fair, it is. However, despite the naming of them, they are offering you something different with each version. Essentially, they are not battling each other; they are complementing each other.

The XPOL-1-5G+ (V3) with its higher gain on lower frequencies, is the better option for rural deployments. It also performs exceptionally well in suburban or even some urban environments where a directional antenna may not be ideal—for example, when omni-directionality, reliability, or line-of-sight obstructions are key considerations.

The XPOL-1-5G (V2) offering a lower gain, is generally better suited for urban applications. Its design ensures better pattern control and a wider vertical aperture, improving signal capture in obstructed areas or locations with multiple reflections. Furthermore, the V2 remains a more cost-effective solution when cell towers are nearby.
