Overview

The QuMax Directional LTE/4G antenna for the Teltonika RUT955/956 router is a perfect outdoor device for mobile and fixed installations like industrial, CCTV, hotspots, yachts, boats, campers, RV etc. It also has embedded Omni Wi-Fi 2.4GHz  antenna. If you use the RUT955 with a QuMax antenna, you get a completely integrated solution with embedded router and multi band antennas all in one enclosure.

The combination of the WI-A955M and a Teltonika RUT955/956 router provides a neat, comprehensive solution for mobile internet connectivity, especially for waterways and marine applications.  Connectivity can be made through the cellular network when away from your home base or through a WiFi service if one is available.

The only connection that is required to this combination is a single CAT5 cable which can be over 50m in length.  Power and data are both carried over this one link.  Local distribution of the internet service using network switches, cabling and access points is supported,  Control of the antenna/router combination can be affected on any connected device such as a smart-phone, PC or laptop

The RUT routers are 'machine-to-machine' routers to achieve the most stable operation in attended or unattended applications.

A lightning protector may want to be considered on the Ethernet cable leading from this antenna in order to protect the internal circuit of the building/vehicle in the extremely unlikely event that the antenna itself is directly struck by lightning.

IP ratings, or Ingress Protection ratings, are a standardised benchmark of how capable a product is of withstanding ingress from foreign entities that could negatively impact its functionality. They’re helpful because terms like ‘weatherproof’ and ‘waterproof’ are unspecific terms and don’t always convey the necessary level of detail – waterproof on one device can mean it’s capable of withstanding rain. In contrast, on another device, it can mean being capable of complete submersion in water for extended periods.
