The QuSpot A140S-A is an omni-directional external 4G antenna that simultaneously acts as a waterproof enclosure for the Teltonika TRB140 IoT gateway/router. The A140S-A can be used in both fixed installations, such as buildings and static caravans, and mobile installations, such as boats and campervans and is very flexible in terms of positioning, since cable length isn't a factor like it is for most 4G antennas.

The A140S-A is ideal for scenarios in which an external antenna has to be mounted far away from where the accompanying router would normally be, as performance with 4G LTE devices goes down as the antenna cables get longer. Since the A140S-A acts as a waterproof enclosure for the TRB140, the router can be located right with the antenna and consequently suffers no performance degradation down the cables. This also means that standard Ethernet cables (CAT5 or CAT6) can be run from the router down to the desired network location, allowing for cable runs of up to 100 metres if necessary.

In order to supply power to the router inside the A140S-A antenna, as well as establish its connection to the network, 9-30vDC passive PoE (Power over Ethernet) should be used.
