This antenna has not been reviewed by The Road Two Spoons, however, this kit offers an extremely powerful 5G roof mount antenna, that matches perfectly with the RUTX50, leaving no connectors or wires unused.

The Teltonika RUTX50 is a very powerful 5G router, capable of reaching mobile speeds of up to 3.3 Gbps.

The RUTX50 has 5x Gigabit Ethernet ports, Dual-SIM card slots for failover/auto-switch purposes and 4x4 MIMO antenna connections to allow for the strongest possible mobile signal.

The RUTX50 has a total of 7 antenna connectors which are: x4 SMA for 5G/LTE, x2 ReSMA for WiFi, & x1 SMA for GPS, which match up perfectly to Poynting's SWIRL-4 Antenna.

The SWIRL-4 is an X-Polarised, Omni-Directional 5G/LTE, Permanent Roof Mount Vehicle Antenna, and (in all honesty) will likely be over kill for what your average 'Van goer will need. But if you live in your Van, or often "work from home" in it, the SWIRL-4 antenna is packed full of power to keep you connected.

The size of the SWIRL-4 is not to be underestimated, with a diameter of 382mm, and height of 127mm, so it will take up some real-estate on the roof of your 'Van. This may be the antenna for you if you own a larger Motorhome, Converted 'Van, or don't mind sacrificing roof space for a top quality Antenna.

Mobile Frequencies Covered 617 ~ 6000MHz with a peak gain of 6dBi.

The SWIRL-4 has x7 Cables that match up with the RUTX50 router, each with a length of 650mm, which is shorter than your average antenna.
This is because the SWIRL range of antennas can be coupled with a SWIRL Base which turns the SWIRL antenna into a CPE unit housing the router in the Base directly underneath the SWIRL Antenna, and by keeping the cables short this helps to reduce coax cable signal loss. This CPE set-up is not typically used for 'Vans as it boosts the height to 224mm (SWIRL Antenna & Base - CPE set-up) which may be too tall for your average motorhomer (view our SWIRL product page to see the other SWIRL antenna variate and Base options).
So this is something to bare in mind when choosing the placement to mount the SWIRL antenna, we do sell antenna cable extensions, but as a general rule, the shorter the cable length the better.

5G Kit - RUTX50 Router & MIMO-3-17 Antenna

The Antenna in this kit has not been reviewed by The Road Two Spoons, however, it is the perfect Antenna if you are looking for a fixed Antenna and are wanting to also connect to the WiFi and GPS connectors on the RUTX50 to the outdoor antenna, as well as the x4 Mobile connections like the MIMO-4-4 that was reviewed by The Road Two Spoons.

Pairing the RUTX50 with the MIMO-3-17 Antenna gives you a permanent roof mount option. We call this one the shark fin due to its distinctive shape. It comes with 7 x 2-meter cables and offers coverage from 410 to 3800 MHz. This antenna is specifically designed for the transport industries making it perfect for caravanners and motorhomes.

Mounting options include the standard spigot mount & adhesive surface mount, or magnetic mount - optional to purchase separately. The antenna is offered in black or white so you can choose which best suits your vehicle.
