TL-RUT906-ESIM

RUT906-eSIM Teltonika Router.

Overview

The RUT906 is a CAT4 4G/LTE Router designed by Teltonika for demanding IoT, M2M, and automation applications.
It features dual-SIM Card slots for automatic failover between mobile networks, as well as having eSIM allowing for up to 7 eSIM profiles (consumer type eSIM), enabling uninterrupted connectivity even if signal degrades or the data limit is reached on one of the SIM Cards.

On the cellular front the RUT906 supports 4G/LTE up to 150 Mbps, whilst also being backwards compatible with 3G & 2G, which makes it suitable for both robust connectivity and as a backup WAN in critical installations.

From a hardware perspective, the RUT906 is impressively well equipped, it offers: x4 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports (x1 WAN & x3 LAN) for wired connectivity, x2 Mobile Antennas, x2 WiFi Antennas (supporting WiFi4), and x1 GNSS (GPS) Antenna.
For industrial integration, it also includes RS232 & RS485 serial ports, plus digital I/Os, which makes it especially suitable for connecting legacy sensors, PLCs, and automation gear into modern networks.
The Router is enclosed in a rugged aluminium & plastic housing that can operate in temperatures of -40 °C to +75 °C, delivering the durability expected in industrial environments.

The RUT906 also has eSIM capability, unlike traditional SIM cards, an eSIM is a digital version that is integrated directly into the device's motherboard, eliminating the need for a physical card. This embedded technology is non-removable and offers greater flexibility and convenience for users.

Each device with eSIM support comes with a preinstalled bootstrap profile that includes 10MB of data, which is activated upon the device's first use. The 10MB of data is sufficient to download a dedicated eSIM profile from your service provider upon first use of your device. This feature is especially useful for deploying devices in remote locations where no alternative internet connection is available, simplifying the setup process.
Once a new eSIM profile is successfully downloaded, the bootstrap profile and all related configurations, including the bootstrap eSIM zone with its pre-configured traffic-blocking rules, are automatically removed. The newly downloaded eSIM profile is then set as the default primary SIM.
Please Note: The bootstrap profile is valid for 1 year starting from the manufacturing date of the device. After 1 year, the profile will no longer be available, meaning you will have to follow the default procedure of activating an eSIM, which requires an internet connection from another source.

Compatible with Teltonika's Remote Management System (RMS), the RUT906 is often deployed for remote monitoring of assets (e.g., water tanks, pumps, vending machines), secure connectivity for branches or kiosks, industrial automation connectivity for legacy equipment, or as backup WAN in offices.
Its dual-SIM failover feature ensures connectivity stays live, with the serial & I/O interfaces allowing the Router to interface with a broad range of devices. The built-in WiFi distribution over the 2.4GHz band, means the RUT906 can also function as local wireless access for onsite devices.
For added protection, consider also acquiring the BAT120 a uninterrupted power supply (UPS). The BAT120 can provide a Teltonika Router with power for up to 6hours ensuring your internet connection stays live even during a power outage.

In summary, the Teltonika RUT906 is a powerful, flexible, and rugged Router, designed for professional and industrial deployments where reliable connectivity and integration with legacy/industrial systems are key.
If your project demands remote management, cellular failover, serial connectivity, and industrial durability, the RUT906 is an ideal choice.
