A-PUCK-0003-V2-01

PUCK-3-V2 Black Antenna.

Overview

The Poynting PUCK-3-V2 Antenna offers a small-sized PUCK style antenna for use in the IoT/M2M, Vehicle / Transportation, Smart Meter, Smart Utilities, Marine and Agricultural / Farming markets.

The PUCK-3-V2 consists of a 3-in-1 antenna system within a single housing, featuring SISO LTE/5G, SISO WiFi, and GPS.

The x1 LTE/5G antenna (for 2G/3G/4G and 5G) offers wideband coverage from 617 to 6000 MHz, covering contemporary LTE/4G & 5G bands for future-proof implementation. The ultra-wideband performance of the cellular antennas allows it to be used across different operators and technologies and is ready for future cellular technologies up to 6GHz for 5G applications.

The PUCK-3-V2 also provides x1 separate WiFi antenna covering 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, capable of 802.11n & 802.11ac/ax/be with SISO.

The final antenna is a high-performance active GPS system operating at temperatures as low as -40ºC and as high as +80°C.

The radiation patterns of all radiating elements provide an excellent balance between omni-directionality, pattern diversity and good radiation abilities at the desired elevation, which is often overlooked in such a small-size antenna. Despite its small size, this antenna provides excellent performance, especially at the higher frequency bands, where performance is critical for 5G and LTE throughput and connection stability.

Article - IP Ratings Explained, by Daniel Coombs

Article: IP Ratings Explained

IP ratings, or Ingress Protection ratings, are a standardised benchmark of how capable a product is of withstanding ingress from foreign entities that could negatively impact its functionality. They’re helpful because terms like ‘weatherproof’ and ‘waterproof’ are unspecific terms and don’t always convey the necessary level of detail.

Article - Antenna Choices for your Vehicle, by Louise Barrett

The Solwise antenna range has traditionally contained antennas that have been mounted on a pole or on a wall/building/portable building but in more recent times we are seeing more antennas used on vehicles. These include a wide range of vehicles such as cars, buses, lorries, caravans, motorhomes, boats, barges and even a space agency, an F1 team, mountain rescue teams and a defence contractor have all bought antenna hardware from us so who knows where some vehicle antenna have ended up!
Across our range we offer permanent and temporary solutions for antennas to mount on your vehicle; these antennas cover WiFi solutions and Mobile Data Solutions which means we have something for most situations.
