Overview

The Poynting OMNI-414 is an omni-directional ultra wideband 4dB 5G antenna, designed for strong and reliable performance in all conditions including poor weather and marine environments. Of particular significance about this antenna is its 4x4 MIMO capability, rendering it capable of providing four seperate data streams to a compatible 4x4 router rather than just the usual two data streams that 2x2 antennas support.

This antenna is capable of excelling in both domestic, business and industrial networks and can function in urban and rural environments as well as in marinas and out at sea. As an ultra wideband antenna, the OMNI-414 supports a great range of mobile frequency bands from 617 to 3800 MHz with a well-balanced signal gain, meaning it should achieve strong and reliable connections regardless of where you are, so long as a mobile signal is present in the area. This antenna supports all main UK/EU frequency bands can be used internationally.

This antenna has an durability rating of IP68, making it robust enough to withstand extremely poor weather conditions and even severe saltwater storms without suffering any water ingress. The OMNI-414 comes with four 2m cables, terminated with SMA male connectors, to fit directly into a router/IoT device.

Video Podcast - Episode 3

Episode 3 covering the acronyms and letters surrounding 4G and 5G and what their meanings are. Where does LTE fit in? What are category classifications and their download speeds? How many antennas on a mobile router? Would you be better off with a higher category 4G router than investing in a 5G router? Steve and Louise also discuss antenna cable and the losses involved with having a too long cable which leads on to conversation about the new Teltonika networking range.
