Here at Solwise we have a variety of 5G routers available for purchase, sometimes it can be intimidating to comb through the technical details to understand the differences and specialities between each device. This article should give you a better understanding of the key strengths of each router, to help you make a more informed decision on which router will be best for your needs.

As a 5G router, the RUTM30 is capable of achieving strong 5G speeds. If a 5G signal is not available, then it can fall-back onto CAT19 4G, making it stronger performance-wise than most 4G routers. This router can be DIN-rail mounted or surface-mounted using optional mounting kits and would be ideal if you wanted a good 5G router at a price range that isn’t too dissimilar from the top 4G routers.

The main distinction of this router is that it comes with a pre-installed eSIM, meaning virtual eSIM profiles can be uploaded into it without needing to change the physical SIM card. As well as just being generally convenient, this can be extremely important when travelling internationally and across zones where the SIM card would otherwise need to be manually swapped out.

It can even be remotely monitored and managed using the Teltonika RMS service, (which costs a small licence fee to use) making it possible to manage the device from a remote location, helping to avoid time-consuming trips to where the device is located on a remote site.

The RUTX50 and RUTC50 are both powerful 5G routers that also support GPS with the RUTX50 being backwards compatible with CAT 20 4G, and the RUTC50 CAT 19 4G, when 5G is not available. These routers have exceptional perform in both 4G and 5G throughput speeds, meaning they’re both ideal if you want the best available speeds for your mobile network connection, especially if you fancied using GPS to track the router’s location. These routers can be DIN-rail mounted or surface-mounted using optional mounting kits.

Both devices are also compatible with the Teltonika RMS service, (which costs a small licence fee to use) making it possible to manage and monitor the devices from a remote location.

The RUTC50 also offers the additional benefit of supporting WiFi 6, meaning its wireless coverage will be even better and should be able to provide much faster speeds to your devices connecting via WiFi.

The RUTM52 is an extremely powerful dual-modem 5G router which supports x8 mobile antenna connectors, rather than the standard x4 that other 5G routers support. This dual-modem feature allows it to achieve the potential data-speeds of two RUTX50 routers at once, if the RUTM52 is used with two SIM cards simultaneously; this renders it the router of choice if you want the strongest possible router and don’t mind paying a premium price.

The RUTM52 supports GPS and eSIM, so it would be ideal for use in a motorhome or campervan if you’re travelling around Europe. As with other 5G routers, it is backwards-compatible with 4G CAT20 in cases where 5G isn’t available. This router can be DIN-rail mounted or surface-mounted using optional mounting kits.

Similarly to the above routers, the RUTM52 is also compatible with the Teltonika RMS service, for managing and monitoring the device.

The InHand IR624 is a strong 5G router designed with industrial applications in mind, evidenced by its robust metal casing and its support for RS232 and RS485 serial ports. This router also has an integrated DIN-Rail mount and broadcasts reliable dual-band WiFi (WiFi5). It has strong 5G speeds of up to 2Gbps and reliable CAT4 4G when 5G isn’t available.

This router is versatile and will excel in many environments, particularly for industrial use. It can also be remotely monitored and managed using the InHand Device Manager, which is free to use.

The InHand FWA02 is in some ways the strongest 5G router available, supporting x6 mobile antenna connections to allow for 5G speeds of up to almost 5Gbps. As well as this, the FWA02 is also backwards compatible with CAT19 4G, with speeds of up to 1.6Gps putting it almost level with the Teltonika RUTX50.

In addition, this router supports WiFi 6 for fast and reliable WiFi coverage even across many devices simultaneously and has x2 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports for extremely fast cable connections. It can even be remotely monitored and managed using the InHand Cloud Manager (costs a licence fee to use).

The FWA02 is powerful enough to perform well in many scenarios; from a domestic household setting, to operating in a business, to being used when travelling inside a vehicle.
