The VOIP-300ATA VoIP Analog Telephone Adaptor (ATA) product is a SIP standards-based communication device that delivers true, next-generation voice-over-IP (VoIP) termination for the CPE and SOHO market. The VOIP-300ATA is a mixed-environment adaptor that will interface legacy analog telephones, fax machines, analog conference telephones and other analog devices to IP based telephony networks that allow users to use there existing analog phones, fax machines, and speakerphones with VoIP services. This product is suitable for the small-office environments and also the domestic user that wants to use the emerging VoIP voice services that ISPs and other emerging VoIP operators are now offering.

The 300ATA is installed at the subscriber's premises and supports one voice port with a POTS port allowing you to access either VoIP or PSTN calls via the same handset. New firmware (see below) now also supports advanced VoIP call features such as call forwarding, call waiting etc (some functions may depend upon your TelCo). This adaptor can make use of existing broadband pipes such as digital subscriber line (DSL), fixed wireless and cable modem deployments.

In addition, the 300ATA is router which allows of simultaneous support usage of VoIP and also routed IP connectivity for existing LAN clients e.g. in cable modem implementations where there is no existing router or where the user wishes to segment off a section of their existing network.

By turning any analog telephone into an IP telephone, the VOIP-300ATA addresses the needs of the emerging market of "second-line" residential voice-over-IP (VoIP) services. Broadband service providers can now deploy voice services quickly to grow revenues and facilitate the development of new services.
