About the Solwise Web Site

Our site has been designed to include as much information as possible whilst being quick to download and easy to navigate. So far we have resisted the temptation to make it sing and dance with animation etc. A small amount of JavaScript is used, mainly to ease price maintenance, a menu-bar and for pop-up window control for the shopping trolley, but otherwise the main site is pure html.

The site is hosted by a number of ISPs chosen for their price and performance on the functions required. Our shopping-trolley system is hosted on our secure in-house server and connected to the outside world via ADSL. We are continually working on our technology infrastructure to improve our efficiency and ease of use.

Our shopping trolley system was written and is maintained in-house using PHP on a MySQL back-bone. It is secured with a Thawte Key Certificate. You will need to have pop-up windows enabled and JavaScript is used for prices display, window sizing and focus. Order Tracking will be added as soon as we can integrate our order processing systems with our carriers tracking systems.

If you have problems with the shopping trolley system you can phone or fax in your order. If you need to email an order please just leave off the credit card card details and ask us to phone you for them since email may not be a secure.
