Watch downloaded movies, enjoy music anywhere in the home, share photos.
Download and store movies on your PC and then
watch them on your TV from the comfort of your living room sofa! No need
to burn movies from your hard disk to CD or DVD. Now you can use your
wired, wireless or HomePlug network and remote control and view digital
content on your TV. The Solwise DMP-1120w supports many video formats
and can also stream music files in high quality from your computer to
your audio system and TV in any room.
Keep your music collection stored on your PC's
hard disk and use your remote control to select songs according to artist,
album or genre. You can play songs from online music services and even
listen to Internet radio without a PC! Share digital photos: Relax on
the couch and view your holiday photos with family and friends. Simply
store your photo collections centrally on a PC and enjoy them anytime
on your TV, individually or as a slideshow. If you have a high definition
TV input on an LCD or plasma TV, your digital photos will be brought to
life!
The Solwise DMP-1120w is easily installed with
a user friendly step-by-step approach. All the steps needed to install
it are displayed on your TV screen. You can access multimedia content
from all PC's in your house. The 2.4GHz wireless link between the Solwise
DMP-1120w and the PC means you don't have to lay cables or drill holes.
In places where wireless cover is not so good, you may wish to consider
HomePlug.
To convert your Computer into a media server
you just need to add some media server software. For Vista or XP(sp2)
this can just be Windows Media Player (v11). You can also use other media
servers such as Twonky or TVersity on PC. Linux and Mac options are also
widely available. Most of these media server packages are available for
download and some are free.

9/10 - 'It's incredibly easy to set up, picking up a wireless network straight away. Enter your WEP code and you're off. .......it's a sexy looking wireless media streamer for under £90....... Highly recommended' |

"The wireless networking is flawless. My media server (a hard drive attached to my router) turned up at once. AAC and MP3 audio files, and DVD .vob, AVI and MPEG-2 files, plus photo albums, all played and previewed without problem. And unlike many media streamers, the Solwise has slots for CF and other storage cards, which are read directly." Charles Arthur, The Guardian |
